One day late weekly wedding post, but cheers to Thursday! I went a little overboard for today’s post but kinda don’t care. I shoot frequently at Aldridge Gardens and have had some really stunning days there, but this Game of Thrones inspired wedding is one of my top faves, ever. GoT is my number one favorite tv show and it’s Britney and Taylor’s too! Whenever we got together to chat wedding things, it would never fail that we would go into a GoT tangent. Anyway, get ready for the pretty.
Britney and Taylor met years ago when they worked at Target together. What started as a friendship as coworkers developed into a best friendship then developed into falling in love with each other. I know I talk often about how cute all of my couples are, but these two are beyond precious. They melt into each other and are some of the most comfortable people with each other that I’ve ever seen. They love all of the same things, have a huge heart for animals, have weekly coffee dates at our local Dunkin Donuts (where the employees know them by name but write cute titles on their drinks), and are incredibly intentional with their relationship. Goals, right?
When it came time to plan a wedding, Britney knew she wanted to incorporate GoT themes into her design and had a vision that her vendors really made come to life. The details are SO good (we maybe have nearly 200 detail shots from this wedding, oops). Taylor was by her side every step of the way helping where needed and offering his opinion. We even have an engagement photo where she’s holding a GoT book and he’s holding a wedding magazine! Tiffany at Studio Flower absolutely slayed the florals and Britney’s bouquet is to die for (not Red Wedding style). The bridesmaids carried lanterns instead of bouquets and they were elegant. I loved that the best man wore a Hand of the King pin and that Britney’s dress and jewelry were very Daenerys inspired (she even had a Targaryen garter set!). Candles and greenery everywhere made for a super romantic setting. Also, I want to give a quick shout out to how hard Britney and Taylor worked to make their dream day a reality. They both worked overtime and picked up extra jobs to be able to pay for what they wanted because it was important to them. Brides and grooms, let this be a lesson! Don’t settle for less (or especially less quality)- if you really want it, there are ways to have it. Work hard.
I’m not entirely sure where to start for my favorite moments of the day because the entire day was full of genuine heartfelt love. There was nothing fake. Everything was real. It was the kind of wedding day that photographers and vendors dream about. Britney shared sweet tears with her bridesmaids as she got dressed, and then shared the happiest cry I’ve ever seen when she saw Taylor for the first time. Taylor was completely enamored with his bride. Watching them interact together still makes me smile to this day, and their wedding was over a year ago! All of their interactions with their friends and family were full of emotion. Their ceremony didn’t leave a dry eye from anyone. Their reception was full of dancing, toasts, cheers, and happiness. Literally every second of the day was a dream.
Britney and Taylor, I love following your journeys on social media and love your love. I hope you guys are enjoying your second year of marriage and loving on those animals! We still need to have our anniversary shoot too by the way :) Love you guys so much.
How cool is that Hand of the King pin!? Shout out to Ned Stark, the best hand there ever was.
This tender moment shared with her besties was one of my favorite parts of the day.
This. First. Look. Though. *heart eyes*
Go ahead and soak up the goodness of that bouquet. Y’ALL!
Ranunculus are my favorite flower and those dark purple ones are SO good.
Guest book: weir tree thumbprint sign!
Just as amazing, maybe even better at night, with all of those candles lit! I had to stop myself from sharing any more detail shots. The struggle is real.
