Cheers to Wedding Wednesday!
It’s time to get back into the blogging groove, so I’m jumping on the bandwagon to bring you a new wedding post every Wednesday. I’m not going to go in any kind of order (I’ve got dozens of posts to make), but just going to pick one each week from whatever I’m feeling like and go from there. Hope you stay a while to see them all!
Today I am sharing Caitlyn and Dustin’s romantic summer wedding at one of my all time favorite places, the Sonnet House. I already knew I was going to love this wedding because of the venue alone. Caitlyn wrote me about her wedding and we set a date to meet, but funny enough, we met at a bridal show the day before our meeting and hit it off immediately! A good relationship with my couples is something I strive for, look forward to, and helps to develop a friendship that will last throughout the planning process and even after the wedding. When we had our engagement session together (check it out here!), Caitlyn and Dustin were totally up for being adventurous and went along with every location I suggested to them. These guys lucked out with double golden hour for engagement and the wedding, and I’m still swooning over these photos months later.
In addition to one of my favorite places, Caitlyn built an amazing wedding day team that was second to none. Brides, when we offer suggestions and referrals for other vendors, it’s not just because we know they do a great job, but because we all know who we like to work with. It was such a fun day! Additionally, another reason I wanted to share this wedding in the middle of proposal season, is to let future brides know about a little something I like to do for my most favorite people to work with- offer discounts and incentives to brides who are working with my fellow favorites. The Sonnet House is one of those vendors, among just a handful more. Usually I include a free session, product credit, free prints, or other awesome things. All of my past brides know how much I love to spoil them and this is just an added bonus, and it’s because we LOVE working together and want to do it more often! If you’re getting married at The Sonnet House (other favorite vendors that I include freebies for include Aldridge Gardens, Becky’s Brides, Studio Flower, and more), then I would love to chat wedding photos with you!
Back to Caitlyn and Dustin! I always love to share a few favorite things from the day. My favorite details from the Whitaker wedding would have to include the wedding favors. When Dustin proposed, he had Caitlyn’s ring in a Harry Potter snitch, since these two love HP a ton! Caitlyn got Ferrero Rocher candies and added wings and a little message, and that was their favor! How CUTE is that?! I also love the delicate cap sleeves on Caitlyn’s dress covered in sparkles, her mismatched bridesmaids dresses (I’m always a sucker for this!), mini cheeseburgers on the buffet, and instead of a groom’s cake, assorted pies! So many fun details all inspired by Caitlyn and Dustin’s fun personalities made this wedding a hit.
In addition to perfect details and a great team, Caitlyn and Dustin shared some special moments throughout the day as well. Their first look was so sweet and full of giggles that it made me smile from ear to ear. These two danced the night away with all of their friends and seeing the joy on everyone’s faces was priceless. I loved their first dance, which was to Sons and Daughters by Allman Brown and Liz Lawrence (easily one of my most favorite songs, give it a listen here). Of course sunset romance was a favorite part of my day as well. The goat noises were in full force. Caitlyn gave me full creative freedom with her images and I took full advantage of it (and you can definitely tell). This wedding was by far near to my heart.
Caitlyn and Dustin, I’m so thankful that I got to be a part of your incredibly magical day! Love you guys a ton and can’t wait to see you again soon. And lastly, a special thanks to Alex from AL Weddings for second shooting with me on this great day!
