2018 is officially here! My new year is off to a great start (of mostly relaxing so far, ha!) and I can’t wait to see what else this year brings in the months to come. I am goal planning and how-to setting over the next week, but so far a few of my biz goals are already coming together, with my second weekly blog post in a row (already proud of myself!) and keeping up my insta better. So far so good! Even though it is a very chilly week here, I’m excited to warm you up and share Elizabeth and Matt’s gorgeous Hammock Dunes wedding with you today!
Elizabeth first reached out to me to book an engagement session. She was friends with past bride Ruthie; they went to Auburn together and I actually met up with her and Matt in Toomer’s Corner to shoot around campus for their session! When we met, Elizabeth greeted me with hugs and gifts. She has such a kind heart and we became instant friends. We had a great time shooting but still hadn’t talked too much about the wedding. After seeing her engagement photos, she asked if I would travel to which I quickly replied yes! I don’t get the chance to travel for weddings that often (I don’t market myself a ton for it and can’t travel super frequently with my kiddos still little), but when everything lines up and it works out, I’m over the moon! We got the details squared away and when the time came, we got to spend the whole weekend together. Rehearsal dinner coverage is always complimentary for my out of town weddings, and since we were near Orlando, Kristen (my fab second shooter) and I even had an extra day to go to Universal Studios, which was a dream for this HP nerd. Such a fun trip!
Aside from the crystal clear skies and ocean water and being right next to the beach (happy sigh), my favorite details of the day were definitely all of Elizabeth’s personal details. From her delicate dress and veil, to her comfy lacy Toms, and a bouquet of some of my favorite colors, she looked like a princess! I also loved their personalized Coke bottles at the reception and the personalized sunglasses they passed out as favors for guests to wear in between the ceremony and reception (I still have my pair too!). Every little detail was met with such precision, thanks to Elizabeth’s vision and the help of her fabulous planner, Karen at St. Augustine Weddings. It was really a beautiful Florida day.
My favorite moments were spending time with the girls getting ready, driving between locations with the wind in my hair, seeing Matt’s face as he saw his bride for the first time (no first look, so he saw her as she walked down the aisle!), spending lots of time on romance (you guys, I’m obsessed with these romance photos!), and the epic dance party at the reception! Each part of the day was so special. So glad we got to be a part of it!
Elizabeth and Matt, I hope you enjoy a glimpse back into your big day as I share a few of my favorites! Which was honestly really tough because I really love all of the photos. I hope you guys have a wonderful 2018! Much love to you!
I could just stare at this view all day!
One of my most favorite bridal portraits ever, I think.
That walkway at the church was STUNNING.
Such a happy groom!!!
This little ringbearer friend was just precious!
After we left the church, we stopped by Washington Oaks State Park for some more romance. It. Was. Amazing.
I can die happy. THAT TREE.
And then back to Hammock Dunes we went!
Silhouettes will never get old for me. *heart eyes*
The future is looking bright! <3
